Stone Mountain Baptist Association has a feeding unit capable of serving up to 15,000 meals per day in the event of an emergency in or out of our area when a disaster strikes. Our volunteers have worked in the aftermath of floods, tornadoes, hurricanes and at the World Trade Center in New York. Annually our unit works in Panama City in cooperation with Lifeway Christian Ministries and their “Beach Reach” efforts to reach college students on Spring Break. Our volunteers provide a pancake breakfast on the beach to students, while Christian college students from our Baptist Collegiate Ministries witness and share Christ. Most recently, our unit was called out to assist after Hurricane Sandy. We served 106,000 meals utilizing 115 volunteers. The unit is manned by volunteers from our churches who have been trained and work in cooperation with the Red Cross and Salvation Army. Annual training is available to  be certified as a volunteer. Each year our Team holds a golf tournament to support this ministry.
