History:  During the time leading up to the Atlanta Olympics, First Baptist Church of Stone Mountain started ministry related to the events happening in their area. Ministry began with the Yellow Daisy Festival in 1995. Ministry to people visiting the park began during the Olympic Games in 1996. The first full time missionary came in1998. Ministry has since flourished since the beginning of the ministry in 1995.   Participation: Churches and individuals can participate in ministry throughout the year in the park. Worship services begin in March and continue until early winter. Churches take Sundays to lead the worship services. Easter Sunrise services happen at two locations in the park. Churches can assist with this ministry. Day camps for children run in June and July. Churches can participate in providing supplies or volunteers. Festivals include the Yellow Daisy Festival and the October fall festivals at the Stone Mountain Park Campground every Saturday. Volunteers are needed and utilized at each of these events.   Contributions: We are always in need of children’s craft supplies and Sports New Testaments that can be obtained at the International Bible Society. The craft supplies needed are: water based markers, crayons, construction paper, paper lunch bags, yarn, beads, buttons, leather stripping, glue, foam sheets, foam stickers, craft projects, paper plates, paper towels, baby wipes, paper cups and Veggie Tale videos. Every Sunday we make items available for families. Devotional books are needed along with New Testaments and Bibles, plus coloring books for children.
