New Work Foundation

Leaving an Eternal Legacy

Have you stopped to consider why God has blessed you? Has He blessed you so that you can live comfortably, securely, and leisurely? His Word certainly does not teach that. He blesses us so that we can be a blessing to others. Someone has well said, “Our financial prosperity and our spiritual prosperity are intertwined. Both are meant to be shared.”

One way that you can leave an eternal blessing is through giving to the Stone Mountain Baptist New Work Foundation. As new churches are planted the Gospel is preached, people are saved, families are strengthened, and needs are met. One of the simplest and most popular ways to give is through a bequest. It provides an opportunity for you to participate in the establishment of new churches, and it costs you nothing during your lifetime. No matter the size of your estate, you can leave a legacy by establishing in your will a percentage of your estate, a fixed dollar amount, or a residual amount after other obligations have been finalized. By doing that you not only leave an eternal legacy, you also give a witness to your heirs concerning your Christian faith and life priorities. Let me thank you in advance for your prayers for and gifts to the ministry of church planting through the Stone Mountain Baptist New Work Foundation. For further information, please contact me and allow me to show you how you can be a part of what God is doing through the ministry of church planting.

About the NWF

In 1989 a group of lay leaders from our churches formed a separate 501(c)3 to raise, receive, and manage endowment funds to be used to purchase new church sites and provide construction financing for first unit construction for new Southern Baptist Churches. Day-to-day management of these resources is provided through a management agreement with the Georgia Baptist Foundation. A Board of Trustees elected by the Churches of the Stone Mountain Baptist Association makes decisions for the Foundation. The Foundation makes grants to churches seeking to start a new church based on investment earnings of their two funds:

Founders Fund: The Foundation may make a matching grant up to $25,000 for purchase of property on which the Mission Church will build its first unit. As an alternative the Mission may purchase an existing facility.

Century 2000 Fund: The Foundation may make a matching grant up to $25,000 to an existing church to help start a new Mission Church.

Memorial Fund: The Foundation’s Memorial Fund accepts donations that honor the lives and memory of special people who have touched your own lives. Donations may be endowed or non-endowed. These funds are used as directed by the donor or at the discretion of the Foundation. Income in this fund is used to make grants in the same manner as the Founders Fund and Century 2000 Fund.

Partnerships: The New Work Foundation seeks to partner with the Georgia Baptist Convention and comply with the Convention’s criteria for grants. The success of our Foundation can be attributed to the faithful giving of individuals and churches. We ask that each church that is a member of our Association contribute 1% of their undesignated gifts to the New Work Foundation.
