Around the Association- February

Dear SMBA Churches,

Happy February! As January is behind us and we move further into 2026, we’re excited about the ministry happening across the association. Here are a few key updates and opportunities to highlight:

Hub City Church Initiative

We’re partnering with churches to strategize multiplication and develop mission communities within your church.

This training is tailored for your church. Larry Black and I will meet with your ministry leaders to train them on leading a mission community.

Demographic Deep Dive

We want you to know about ministry opportunities specific to your church and how to connect intentionally with your surrounding community.

This includes direct ministry connections and secondary services that align with local needs and opportunities.

If you’d like a catered plan for your church context, please let us know.

February 19 Webinar – Best Practices for Reaching the Digital Community

Mark your calendars for a webinar with Mark Estes, CEO of VisionReach.

We’ll explore practical ways for your church to engage the digital community effectively.

Atlanta Church Creatives

Atlanta Church Creatives (ACC) is a growing community created to support church media, production, and creative volunteers. The purpose behind ACC is to come alongside those who serve behind the scenes in the local church and remind them that what they do matters. Many creatives serve faithfully without much visibility or support, and our heart is to create a space in the local area where they can be equipped, encouraged, and connected to others walking a similar journey.

Who it’s for:

Church volunteers and staff serving in:

  • Media & Production

  • Audio & Worship Tech

  • Video & Photography

  • Graphics & Social Media

  • Communications & Creative Arts

What we offer:

  • Monthly in-person meetups for creatives to connect, learn, and encourage one another

  • Practical workshops and training events (cameras, audio, lighting, social media, leadership, etc.)

  • Online community for questions, support, and shared resources

  • Content, tools, and encouragement specifically for church media volunteers

What we’ve done so far:

  • Hosted multiple “Let’s Talk Production” conferences, bringing together church creatives for hands-on training and leadership development

  • Led brand experience workshops, including the Fujifilm Xperience and Sony Xperience, giving church teams hands-on access to professional camera gear and training

  • Built an ongoing creative community serving churches across the Atlanta area and surrounding regions

  • Created consistent spaces for creatives to connect through local meetups and gatherings

  • Provided practical resources, devotionals, and encouragement for volunteers serving behind the scenes

A reminder from 1 Corinthians 12:12-27

There are many members in the body, and although we are many churches, we are one body united for the common cause of sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ. May we remain united in our call to ministry.

If you need any resources or support, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re here to serve as an extension of your local church.
